Churros!

Churros, churros, CHURROS!!!

Churros have to be one of my favorite treats! They are just hit and miss. Well no more. I* found the following recipe on Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/pin/173810866840695741/), posted by Lovin' from the Oven (http://lovintheoven.com/2012/03/baked-cheater-churros.html). I was unable

to find the pastry listed in the blogs but found that the following worked.

Ingredients needed:
  • 2 sheet frozen pastry puff, thawed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
( I didn't use all the butter or cinnamon sugar. Could be cut back)

With the pastry sheets that I used, t was folded in thirds, I cut each third in fourths to make 12 pieces out of each sheet. Then followed the cooking instructions listed on the package or until golden brown.

Once all party is cooked, take the 1/2 cup of melted butter and spread on each piece. After is has been coated, roll in or sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture on, then set to the side.

Once you have all of them completed you are good to go. This is a light and flaky churo with much less calories than an original.

Pro's:  Much lighter, great tasting, good as churro bites or full length, messy fun

Con's: You have to eat relatively soon after making unless you like yours a bit more dry.

Overall, I give this delicious treat 2 thumbs up!
